Gameplay accounts

A Cartridge Controller is not required to play. Realms uses a small Starknet account dedicated to gameplay, so routine actions do not open a wallet approval dialog.

When you enter a world, the client loads or creates a gameplay key in your browser and deploys the corresponding player account on that world's chain. The account can call game systems, but it does not replace the wallet or identity you use outside the game.

Identity and recovery

Connect a supported Starknet wallet when the world requires an identity. The Realms account portal binds the gameplay account to that identity. If the browser key is lost or replaced, an authenticated session can rotate the bound account to the new key.

Guest entry is available only on worlds that explicitly support it. A guest account is not bound to an identity, so clearing the browser's site data also removes its local key.

Security

  • The gameplay private key stays in browser storage.
  • The binding service can bind an identity or rotate its gameplay key; it cannot sign ordinary player actions.
  • The onchain registry permits one gameplay account per identity and one identity per gameplay account.

Keep the wallet for your identity and assets secure. The gameplay account is deliberately limited to the selected game chain and can be replaced without moving those assets.
